18-year-old Stere Kalis played another excellent innings as she scored her second fifty of the tournament to finish as leading run-scorer. Netherlands looked to have put a substantial total on the board as the hosts reached 146 for 3 in their 20 overs. United Arab Emirates had overcome a total of 137 for 3 against the same opposition in the group match thanks to a century partnership between Chaya Mughal and Nisha Ali and the same pair this time added 70 for the second wicket. Udeni Dona and Chamani Seneviratne kept UAE on course for victory but Heather Siegers took two wickets in two balls in the 20th over to put the hosts into a winning position, only for a five wides to swing the pendulum back. Scores were tied as UAE finished on 146 for 9 which meant a super-over was required to decide the winners. UAE lost both their wickets in scoring only six but the run out of Stere Kalis meant that when Heather Siegers was caught by Esha Oza off the bowling of Subha Srinivasan UAE had won the super over 6 runs to 5 to claim seventh place in dramatic fashion.
