An exciting match in the first of the play-off semi-finals saw the Nethertands openers, Sterre Kalis and Heather Siegers bat superbly as they shared a partnership of 85, hitting nine boundaries between them. Uganda kept their heads in the field as only 26 runs came in the last five overs of the innings. but a total of 118 for 3 gave Netherlands high hopes of their first victory in the competition. Uganda were 29 for two after seven overs but Gertrude Candiru and Immaculate Nakisuuyi went for their shots in a partnership of 51 in 7.3 overs to transform the innings. Candiru saw her side home to a six-wicket victory with nine balls to spare with an unbeaten 43 from 42 balls.
