Bangladesh women's cricket team continued their winning run which had recently brought unexpected success in the Women's Asia Cup by beating Papua New Guinea by eight wickets. Veru Frank made 27 as PNG recovered to score 84 for 6 in their 20 overs but wicket-keeper Shamima Sultana continued her fine form with the bat with 35 from 36 fours as Bangladesh began their campaign with a comfortable victory with 5.1 overs to spare.
