Netherlands looked to have posted a winning total in their match against United Arab Emirates as they scored 137 for 3 in 20 overs thanks to a wonderful innings from 18-year-old Sterre Kalis who made an unbeaten 88 from 68 balls as she stroked 11 boundaries. Nisha Ali had been frugal when bowling her off-spin and she was soon at the crease as UAE lost an early wicket. After starting slowly her innings increased in tempo as she scored 69 during a century partnership with Chaya Mughal for the second wicket. A flurry of wickets did not derail UAE as they gained a memorable victory in their first match at this level.
