Thailand lost their first match in the ICC Women's World T20 Qualifier in Netherlands when they were beaten by seven wickets by Ireland. Thailand lost a wicket to the first ball of the match but recovered well thanks to a second-wicket stand of 54 from Naruemol Chaiwai and Nattaya Boochatham.Boochatham made a classy 41 before missing a sweep and the lower order played some poor shots as they tried to increase the run-rate. Lucy O'Reilly claimed figures of 3 for 23 and a total of 92 for 7 soon looked below par as the Irish openers started well but Sornnarin Tippoch bowled superbly to claim 3 for 12. Clare Shillington made 38 from 32 balls as Ireland reached victory with 20 balls to spare. All is not lost for Thailand who still have group matches against Uganda and Scotland to come.
