It was a historic day for women's cricket on the third day of the Women's Asia Cup in Kuala Lumpur as six times champions India were beaten for the first time. Bangladesh beat mighty India for the first time in ODIs or T20s as they won by seven wickets. Captain Rumana Ahmed took 3 for 21 with her leg-breaks but India still posted an imposing 141 for 7. Opener Shamina Sultana hit seven fours in her quickfire 33 but it was a fourth-wicket partnership of 93* between Fargana Hoque (52) and Rumana Ahmed (42) that took Bangladesh to a remarkable victory. With Pakistan returning to winning ways by beating Sri Lanka by 23 runs the top four teams are all level on four points in the most competitive Asia Cup ever played. Thailand were far too strong for Malaysia as they won by nine wickets after restricting their opponents to 35 for 8 in 20 overs. Thailand will now face Bangladesh and will be hoping for another surprise result.
